It’s been so long since we did a book tag. Luckily, I came across this one on Reader Rayna and thought ‘Perfect. I can rant a little.’
I’m just in that kind of mood, guys.
The reason I’m in the mood for this tag is because I’m temporarily staying at my grandmother’s. My books on the other hand are in my new apartment that I can’t move into yet. Hence…irritation. I want to take pictures of them and put them on my new shelves and just generally…pet them. You’ve all been there. Classic book separation anxiety.
1. Totally should’ve gotten a sequel
Not a sequel as such but a third book would be nice. I’m a big fan of Fire and Flood and it’s sequel Salt and Stone so I’m desperate for Victoria Scott to announce a third installment.
2. Totally should’ve had a spin off series
The Waterfire series by Jennifer Donnelly. It was hinted at the end of Sea Spell that there could be more but I love this series so much, I really hope there this. I’d love to see more of Sera and the others.
3. An author who totally should write more books
RAINBOW ROWELL, RAINBOW ROWELL, MY ANSWER WILL ALWAYS BE RAINBOW ROWELL.
Oh and if J.K. could write a Marauders era prequel, that’d be grand.
4. A character who totally should’ve ended up with someone else
I don’t often have these as I’m not usually that invested in the shipping. The romance aspects of a book are usually endured or a lot less interesting than the rest of the book.
That said Albus and Scorpius are as gay AF for each other and them being canon would be great, kthanks.
5. Totally should’ve ended differently
Ragdoll by Daniel Cole. Thebook had me on edge all the way through and then it was completely anticlimatic. It felt like it didn’t build up to what the ending should be.
6. Totally should’ve had a movie franchise
The Newsflesh trilogy would be great movies. Done right, there could be so much tension and twists.
That or Heist Society. Super cute teen heist flick.
7. Totally should’ve had a TV show
The Raven Boys. I know there’s murmurs of a movie but I’d love this as a quirky, diverse TV show. I worry about my favourite books being made into movies – I never feel like they pay enough attention to the small details or even worse, they ignore the big things that make the book. A TV show with a season for each book. God yes.
8. Totally should’ve had only one point of view
Uh…can’t answer this one. If I pick up a book that has more than one POV chances are I’ve put it down again by chapter 2.
9. Totally should have a cover change
Vampire Academy. I’m not a fan of either set of covers for the series and to make matters worse, I have the first five books in one design and book six is in another cover entirely! JUST FINISH THE SERIES BEFORE YOU RELEASE NEW COVERS.
10. Totally should’ve kept the original covers
The Undead series by MaryJanice Davidson. The original covers were so cute!
They fit with the theme of the book and they’re great to look at. I can’t bear the strange, tacky new covers they start releasing with book ten onwards.
11. Totally should’ve stopped at book one
I don’t have much of an answer for this one either. I sometimes think the final book lacks a little bit but I hardly ever wish that a series was a standalone.
Unless this question can be ‘Totally should have stopped at book 7‘ and then please see the series above.
So there’s my (hopefully not too ranty) Totally Should Have book tag!
I’d like to hear any answers you guys have for these questions! Come distract me from missing my books….
