Winter Wonderland Book Tag

Make no mistake – right now we are not having a winter wonderland. It is a frozen apocalypse. But there’s no book tag for that so this will have to do. I’m in a dressing gown, in a duvet, under another blanket with a hot water bottle out of protest.

IT’S COLD AND I DO NOT CARE FOR IT.

So here we go. I’ll try and type through my frozen fingers.

snowflakeOne: What book is so happy and so sweet that it just warms your heart?

I don’t know about happy and sweet but Harry Potter always gives me a warm glow. I read these books once a year whenever I feel I need them most.

Two: What’s your favourite book with a white cover? snowflake

That’s actually tough. I don’t have that many books with a while cover. I guess Heartless takes this one. It’s a very striking cover…just not very winter-y. Sorry. That said, it is truly one of my favourites.

Three: You’re sitting in a nice, comfortable chair with a cup of hot snowflake chocolate. What monster book are you reading?

If it’s an old favourite, it’s Fangirl. If it’s something new from my TBR pile it’s going to be the first book in the Sweep series.

snowflake Four: Its snowing outside and you decide you want to have a snowball fight. What fictional character do you want to have this snowball fight with?

This is tough. I’d like either Starr from The Hate You Give, Scarlet from Caraval and Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles. All because I love them as characters and want to talk to them. I think Cinder especially would cream me in a snowball fight. Maybe her cyborg parts are no good in the snow?

Five: Sadly, your campfire is dying. What last few chapters of a book  snowflakewould you throw in the fire to revive it and keep yourself warm?

Fifty shades of Grey! ~flings~ Twilight! ~chucks on fire~ Anything shitty and angsty from YA that involves angels ~fire flares up a bit too much~

Ok, that was a bit too close to my eyebrows. But as much as I love YA there’s some really awful ones out there and anything with too much purple prose and abusive relationships is going to be used as kindling.

snowflakeSix: What book do you love so much that you would buy another copy of it to give to someone as a Christmas gift (or any gift really) to inspire them to start reading?

If they are tiny, tiny I’d give them The Phantom Tollbooth, Harry Potter or Terry Pratchett, three books that a very young me first got her reading bug from. But now I suppose it would be my favourites. Fangirl for contemporary, Poison for middle grade, The Raven Boys for something a bit more magical and Feed for rampant zombie murder.

Well…that was fun but I’m still cold. I tried.

Do you guys have any good answers for these questions or hints of how to deal with the cold? Seriously, guys, this is so unpleasant. MAKE IT STOP.

Stay warm and I hope you all get a snow day to stay indoors and read.

Ugh, I feel you. It was warm for like, one week, and now it’s going back to being 50-60 degrees AND WHY. I DIDN’T ASK FOR THIS.

I agree, Harry Potter always gives me such a warm feeling while reading it, same with the movies (even though they’re also super stressful lol). I STILL HAVEN’T READ FANGIRL AND HEARTLESS WOW. I swear, it’s going to happen this year. XD And, yep, I’m perfectly fine with burning all the books that have abusive relationships. BYE.

It’s ice cold. We don’t usually have such harsh weather here and it’s a shock. Not to mention it messes with my journey to and from work. Blah, no thanks. Take it away again!
Those are literally two of my favourite books ever so I hope you pick them up at some point! TBH this tag got me nostalgic and I started reading Fangirl again…. XD
